Time Flies When You Are Having Fun

I suppose at this age, time flies regardless of whether or not you are having fun.

So I warned folks that it may not be very often when I blog. I feel like I always have a list of things I would like to blog about in my head but I'm never in a place where I can sit down and get on the computer to write it down.

Anyway, since my last post, we had Dylan and he is now 2 months old. I cannot believe how fast it goes. In the past 8 weeks, we have had Tim's parents and my oldest sister come to visit. They were wonderful visits (and such a great help!) and now seem a distant memory. We have now settled in to life with two kids and I am fully and completely outnumbered and loving it. Tim has returned to his travel routine and I have managed ok with the two boys but I sure do have a great appreciation for single parents who have to go it alone all the time. I have gotten the opportunity to spend some great time with friends during the day and look forward to more time before I go back to work.

Brendan is a great helper and loves his little brother; and Dylan, even at such a young age, seems to save the biggest smiles for his big brother. Brendan is really enjoying Christmas this year and it amazes me how quickly he picks up and memorizes Christmas carols. I can't wait to see what he does when presents go under the tree and when he gets to open them Christmas morning. Dylan had his 2 month check up today and is growing well. He is smiling and interacting with us more and more every day. I also can't complain about how well he sleeps. We are down to a "wake up call" at 4:00 and that is about it. We are so blessed!

The Christmas season is in full swing and I thought since I wasn't working, I would have an abundance of time to get all the things done I needed to do. Not so. I am further behind on our Christmas cards (maybe a New Year card at this point) and I came to the realization that I am behind on the gift shopping. Oh well - it has been a great couple of months and all will get done. It is amazing how busy I am - I'm not sure when I get all this stuff done when I'm at work. However, despite all the hustle and bustle, I have to remind myself to take a step back and remember what this season really is about and sharing with my boys that God gave us greatest gift of all in Jesus.

Until next time...(hopefully not 2 months from now)
